The Abteikirche Hamborn in Duisburg traces back to a Premonstratensian abbey founded in the 12th century and consecrated by the Archbishop of Cologne in 1170. After being destroyed in the Second World War and revived by the Premonstratensians in 1959, the church was elevated to a provostry in 1960 and continues to serve as a parish church, with a choir and nave dating from the 15th and 16th centuries.
