FFT (Forum Freies Theater) was founded in 1999 and has been under the artistic direction of Kathrin Tiedemann since 2004. Since 2021 it has been housed in the KAP1 cultural centre directly opposite Düsseldorf's main train station and ranks as one of the most important venues and production houses for professional fringe theatre in German-speaking countries. Without a permanent ensemble, FFT operates as an international production house at the interface of theatre, performance, dance, visual arts and music.
