The Kulturausbesserungswerk (KAW) is a self-managed, non-commercial cultural centre on the grounds of the former railway repair works in Leverkusen-Opladen, running since 2001. Alongside a ground-floor café, the building has an event hall for around 300 people that hosts theatre and cabaret performances, readings and panel discussions, with a programme ranging from fine art to punk music.
