Kulturzentrum Pelmke, in Hagen's Wehringhausen district, grew out of a local citizens' initiative in 1986 and opened in March 1987 inside the former Catholic Pelmkeschule building. As a non-profit sociocultural center, it hosts concerts, runs its own pub, houses the arthouse Kino Babylon cinema, and offers rooms for courses and workshops. It's one of Hagen's four independent cultural centers, alongside AllerWeltHaus, Hasper Hammer and Hohenlimburger Werkhof.
