The Kunstmuseum Bonn was founded in 1947 and has occupied a purpose-built structure designed by Axel Schultes and Jürgen Pleuser on Bonn's Museum Mile since 1992. Its collection focuses on Rhenish Expressionism, above all August Macke, as well as German art after 1945. Together with four other institutions along Friedrich-Ebert-Allee, it forms Bonn's Museumsmeile.
