The Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst has occupied a former umbrella factory on Jülicher Straße in Aachen since 1991 and is regarded as the city's most important museum for modern and contemporary art. It is built around the collection of Peter and Irene Ludwig, with more than 3,000 works of Pop Art, photorealism and European art since the 1960s by artists including Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Jenny Holzer; alongside changing exhibitions, the site also hosts cultural events.
