About the event

In October 2026 the Stadthalle Heinsberg hosts Die orangene Gefahr - die Holländer kommen, the first German-language solo show by cabaret artist Patrick Nederkoorn. With sharp, dark humour the evening takes on the relationship between Germans and the Dutch and the question of migration in a changing climate.

The premise: sea levels rise, and 17 million people from next door set off for Germany in their caravans as orange climate refugees. The show asks how welcoming the Germans really are towards the otherwise much-loved Dutch.

The programme premiered at the Haus der Springmaus in Bonn. Nederkoorn wrote and performs the show himself; Guido van de Meent contributes composition and piano, and Ralf Lohr directs.
