A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Athelston Mayers, is an American rapper, record producer, actor, fashion designer and model from Harlem, New York. He began his musical career as a member of the hip hop collective A$AP Mob, from which he took his stage name. His single "Peso" leaked online in 2011 and quickly gained radio airplay, helping push cloud rap into the mainstream. That October he signed with Polo Grounds Music, an imprint of RCA Records, and released his critically acclaimed debut mixtape "Live. Love. A$AP". Beyond music, he is also active in fashion and modeling.
