Antje Weithaas is a German violinist, born on 21 November 1966 in Guben. She studied at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin under Werner Scholz and won several competitions, including the Bach Competition in Leipzig in 1988 and the International Joseph Joachim Violin Competition in Hanover in 1991, whose artistic direction she took over in 2019. She has taught at the Berlin University of the Arts and, from 2004, at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music. As a soloist and chamber musician she has appeared with orchestras such as the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and she plays an instrument made by Stefan-Peter Greiner in 2001.
