The Bayer-Blasorchester Leverkusen (BBO) was founded in 1901 as the orchestra association of the Bayer paint factory and is the oldest cultural ensemble of Bayer AG. Over time it has grown from a traditional works band into a symphonic wind orchestra with around 45 musicians. Since September 2021 it has been led by conductor Tobias Schütte, who succeeded Pierre Kuijpers (1996–2021). The ensemble traditionally gives two concerts a year at the Erholungshaus in Leverkusen, at Whitsun and in autumn. Concert tours have taken the orchestra to Brazil, the USA, Turkey, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Sweden.
