Branford Marsalis is an American saxophonist, composer, and bandleader, born in 1960. He is best known in jazz as the leader of the Branford Marsalis Quartet, though he also appears regularly as a soloist with classical ensembles. He has led the genre-crossing group Buckshot LeFonque, and from 1992 to 1995 he fronted The Tonight Show Band. His work reaches across jazz, classical, and popular music.
