The Bundesjugendorchester is the national youth orchestra of Germany, based in Bonn. Founded in 1969, it is one of the oldest national youth orchestras in the world. The symphony orchestra brings together young musicians aged 14 to 19 and is run by the project company of the Deutscher Musikrat (German Music Council). Through its rehearsal phases and concert tours, it serves as a key training ground for the next generation of German orchestral musicians.
