D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) is an American band formed in Houston, Texas in 1982 and widely regarded as a pioneer of crossover thrash. Vocalist Kurt Brecht and guitarist Spike Cassidy are founding members who still lead the group today. Their sound fuses the speed and aggression of hardcore punk with the riffing of thrash metal. The 1987 album Crossover gave its name to the genre and helped establish the band internationally. D.R.I. continues to tour regularly, including shows in Germany.
