Emmi & Herr Willnowsky are a German-language comedy and cabaret duo who have performed together since 1996, having met while studying in Hamburg. Christoph Dompke (born 1965) plays Emmi, an aging and unsuccessful opera singer, while Christian Willner (born 1967) portrays Valentin Willnowsky, a penniless pianist. Presented as a married couple who barely conceal their mutual contempt, the pair build their musical comedy around this venomous dynamic. Their early programmes were written and directed by comedian Thomas Hermanns. The duo tours Germany, Austria and Switzerland and has received honours including the 2011 Floegeln Comedy Prize.
