Eros Ramazzotti, born in Rome in 1963, has been a fixture of Italian pop for four decades. The Sanremo Festival opened the door: "Terra promessa" won the newcomers' section in 1984 and "Adesso tu" took the main prize in 1986. His nasal, instantly recognisable voice carries songs about love and ordinary life across albums including In certi momenti (1987), Musica è (1988), Tutte storie (1993), which sold five million copies, and Dove c'è musica (1996). Recording each album in Spanish as well made him a major draw in Latin America, and duets such as "Cose della vita" with Tina Turner widened his audience further. He has sold more than 80 million records. The Una storia importante world tour, named after his 2025 album, reaches Germany in spring 2027.
