Extrabreit is a German rock band formed in 1978 in Hagen that grew out of the punk scene and rose to fame during the Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave). With hits such as "Hurra, Hurra, die Schule brennt!" and "Polizisten," the group shaped German-language rock in the early 1980s and earned several gold records. Longtime members include singer Kai "Havaii" Schlasse and guitarist Stefan Kleinkrieg. Their collaboration with Hildegard Knef on "Fuer mich soll's rote Rosen regnen" was also a success. After several breakups and reunions, the band remains active as a live act today.
