About
Extreme is an American rock band formed in Boston in 1985, built around guitarist Nuno Bettencourt and singer Gary Cherone. Blending hard rock and funk with layered multi-part vocals, they broke through internationally with the acoustic ballad "More Than Words." After an extended hiatus in the late 1990s and 2000s, the band reunited and continues to record and tour.
