About
Flawed Mangoes is the project of Evan Lo, an American musician and singer-songwriter from Boston. Raised in nearby Newton, Massachusetts, he was put into piano lessons as a child, picked up the guitar in middle school and played in bands with friends before enrolling in an audio engineering programme at college in Rochester, New York. He first released music as Fla.mingo with little traction; the Flawed Mangoes material went viral in 2023 when it became the soundtrack of choice for "hopecore" videos on TikTok. The July 2023 track "Killswitch Lullaby" was his breakthrough, and in April 2024 he signed to APG Music, following it that September with the EP The Unwavering Hand. His songs pair layered synths with melodic guitar lines in a calm, largely instrumental electronic style.
