About
Fünf Sterne deluxe formed in Hamburg in 1997 and shaped late-1990s German hip-hop as few other groups did. The founding line-up was rappers Das Bo and Tobi Tobsen, DJ Coolmann and graphic designer Marcnesium, who shaped the group's visual world until 2017; today it is Das Bo, Tobi Tobsen, DJ Coolmann and Luis Baltes. The debut “Sillium” (1998), carried by “Willst du mit mir gehn” and “Dein Herz schlägt schneller”, made them a national name; its successor “Neo.Now” (2000) reached number five on the German album charts and won them the Comet award for best national hip-hop act. The group split at the end of 2004, reunited in 2013 and released the album “Flash” in 2017.
