About
Girls in Airports is a Danish jazz band founded in Copenhagen in 2009. Its members – originally Martin Stender (saxophone), Lars Greve (saxophone, clarinets), Mathias Holm (keyboards), Victor Dybbroe (percussion) and Mads Forsby (drums) – met as students at the Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen. The group has since toured Europe, Asia, the United States and South America, and has continued as a quartet since Greve's departure. It won the Danish Music Awards category Danish Cross-over Jazz Release of the Year in 2010 and was nominated for Danish World Album of the Year in 2012. Its albums include „Migration“ (2011), „Fables“ (2015), „Dive“ (2020) and „Leap“ (2021), the last recorded with the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra.
