About

Götz Widmann (born 23 November 1965 in Bad Brückenau) is a German singer-songwriter (Liedermacher). From 1993 to 2000 he formed the songwriting duo Joint Venture with his friend Martin "Kleinti" Simon, whose punk-inflected attitude shaped a younger generation of German songwriters. After Kleinti's death in 2000 he has performed solo. He has released around 20 albums and is known for his humorous, socially critical and often provocative lyrics.
