About

HATTLER is the eponymous project of German bassist Hellmut Hattler from Ulm, launched in 2000 after his acid-jazz duo Tab Two disbanded. The music blends Hattler's signature electric-bass grooves with contemporary electronica, soul vocals, jazz and ethnic influences into a multimedia crossover sound. Longtime contributors include vocalist Fola Dada and drummer Oli Rubow. The debut album “No Eats Yes” (2000) won the ECHO Award for Best Jazz Production in 2001.
