Hazel Brugger is a Swiss-German stand-up comedian, cabaret artist and slam poet, born in San Diego in 1993. She started out in poetry slam at 17 and won the Swiss Poetry Slam Championship in 2013. She became widely known as a field reporter for ZDF's satirical "heute-show", and her show "Tropical" was released as a Netflix special in 2020. Her awards include the German Comedy Prize (2020), the Salzburger Stier (2017) and the Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis (2024). Together with her husband Thomas Spitzer she hosts the podcast "Hazel Thomas Hörerlebnis", and in 2025 she co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel.
