About
Ibeyi is a French-Cuban musical duo formed by twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Díaz, born in Paris in 1994 and raised partly in Havana. Their father was the Grammy-winning Cuban percussionist Angá Díaz. Their music blends soul, R&B, downtempo and electronic elements with Yoruba and Afro-Cuban traditions, sung in English, French, Spanish and Yoruba. Signed to XL Recordings since 2013, they have released the albums Ibeyi (2015), Ash (2017) and Spell 31 (2022). They appeared in Beyoncé's film Lemonade and have collaborated with artists such as Kamasi Washington and Jorja Smith.
