About

Jens Söring (born 1966 in Bangkok) is a German author and public speaker. In 1990 he was convicted in Virginia of the double murder of his then-girlfriend's parents and spent more than 33 years in US prisons before being released on parole and deported to Germany in 2019. He recounts these experiences in books such as „Rückkehr ins Leben“ and in touring live shows. On stage he pairs a reading with an open question-and-answer session, sharing an insider's view of the US penal system, his fellow inmates and the mental resilience he built during his incarceration.
