Kai & Funky von Ton Steine Scherben feat. Birte Volta is a live project featuring two original members of the legendary Berlin rock band Ton Steine Scherben: bassist Kai Sichtermann, a founding member since 1970, and drummer Funky K. Götzner, who joined in 1974. Since spring 2023 they have been performing together with singer-songwriter Birte Volta. The trio plays the repertoire of Rio Reiser and the Scherben in acoustic arrangements, appearing at clubs and festivals across Germany. In doing so, they keep alive the legacy of one of the most influential German-language political rock bands.
