Kings of Floyd are an internationally staffed Pink Floyd tribute band that premiered in December 2011 and is based in Moenchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Led by British singer and guitarist Mark Gillespie, the ensemble brings together musicians from Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Canada. Their programme focuses on Pink Floyd's most celebrated period between 1971 and 1979, featuring albums such as Meddle, The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. Live shows combine faithful arrangements with elaborate lighting, laser and video production. Reviewers have repeatedly praised the band's musical precision and its authentic recreation of the Pink Floyd sound.
