About

Loona, whose real name is Marie-José van der Kolk, is a Dutch pop and dance singer born in 1974. She broke through in the late 1990s with cover versions such as "Bailando" and "Hijo de la Luna", both of which topped the German charts. Blending dance, pop and Latin influences, she enjoyed particular success in German-speaking markets during the 1990s and 2000s. Her best-known tracks include "Vamos a la Playa" and collaborations with DJ Sammy. In 2026 she is touring Germany with her "Back in Time" show, including a date at the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen.
