Marco Tschirpke (born 1975 in Rathenow) is a German musical cabaret artist, pianist and poet. He grew up in Brandenburg an der Havel, studied music theory and piano at the Folkwang University in Essen, moved to Berlin in 2002 and has been touring with solo programmes since 2003. His trademark are the pieces he calls "Lapsuslieder" — piano songs that usually last only 20 to 80 seconds — which he combines on stage with poems of his own while accompanying himself at the piano. His awards include the Bielefeld Cabaret Prize (2004), the Stuttgarter Besen (2005), the German Kleinkunstpreis in the chanson/song/music category (2018) and the Hessian Cabaret Prize (2022). Alongside CDs such as the "Lapsuslieder" series he also sets poems by Peter Hacks to music.
