About
Gerd Dudenhöffer (born 13 October 1949 in Bexbach) is a German cabaret artist, actor and writer from the Saarland region. He has performed on stage since 1977, having turned to cabaret after studying graphic design. He became nationally known for Heinz Becker, a comedic character he created in 1985 depicting a Saarland family man and craftsman. The television series "Familie Heinz Becker" ran from 1992 to 2004 and was accompanied by the 1999 feature film "Tach, Herr Dokter!". His work has been recognised with awards including the Deutscher Comedypreis and the Saarländischer Verdienstorden.
