About

Matthias "Matze" Knop (born 11 November 1974 in Lippstadt) is a German comedian, presenter, singer, actor and impressionist. After training as a radio editor at Radio Bielefeld and studying journalism at Dortmund University, he first became known for the comedy character "Supa Richie", with which he placed several comedy songs in the German singles charts in the late 1990s. On television he hosted "Knops Spätshow" (Sat.1, 2002) and joined the relaunched sketch show "Die Wochenshow" in 2011; since 2004 he has been a patron of the charity Kinderlachen. His touring stage programmes include "Operation Testosteron", "Platzhirsche" and "Diagnose Dicke Hose", and in 2019 he launched a podcast together with Oliver Pocher.
