Moby, born Richard Melville Hall in New York in 1965, is an American musician, DJ and record producer. He rose to prominence in the 1990s with electronic music spanning techno, house and ambient styles. His 1999 album “Play” became a global success and is regarded as one of the most influential electronic records of its era. Beyond music, Moby is widely known for his animal-rights activism, environmental advocacy and veganism.
