Queens of the Stone Age (QOTSA) is an American rock band formed in 1996 by singer and guitarist Josh Homme following the breakup of his previous band, Kyuss. Emerging from the desert-rock scene around Palm Desert, California, they became one of the defining acts of stoner rock. Homme has remained the band's only constant member through numerous lineup changes.
