About

Reinhold Messner (born 1944 in South Tyrol) is one of the world's most renowned mountaineers, adventurers and authors. Together with Peter Habeler he made the first ascent of Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen, and he was the first person to climb all fourteen eight-thousander peaks. Beyond his Himalayan expeditions he crossed Antarctica, Greenland and the Gobi Desert. Messner has written numerous books and founded the Messner Mountain Museum. In his live lecture events he recounts his expeditions and his experiences at the limits of human endurance.
