About
Rymden is a Scandinavian jazz trio formed in 2016 by Norwegian pianist Bugge Wesseltoft with Swedish bassist Dan Berglund and drummer Magnus Öström. Berglund and Öström had played in the Esbjörn Svensson Trio (e.s.t.) from 1993 to 2008, a band that ended after the pianist's death. The trio's music blends modern jazz with classical music, film scores, rock and Scandinavian folk. Their debut album „Reflections & Odysseys“ appeared in 2019 on Wesseltoft's Jazzland label and reached number 53 in the German album charts, followed by „Space Sailors“ (2020) and, in 2023, „Rymden + Kork“ and „Valleys & Mountains“.
