Samara Cyn (born Samara Henderson, 1998, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee) is an American rapper and singer whose sound blends hip-hop and neo-soul. Raised in a military family across Georgia, Texas, Hawaii and Colorado, she started out writing poetry before turning to music in 2019. Her debut EP "The Drive Home" (2024) earned co-signs from Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill, and in 2025 she won the Grulke Prize for Developing U.S. Act at SXSW and was named to the XXL Freshman class. She supported Smino on tour. With the EP "Backroads" (2025) and the follow-up project "Detour" (2026), she has emerged as one of the most acclaimed new voices in American hip-hop.
