About

SuperStrut is a nine-piece funk band whose members come from across North Rhine-Westphalia; it was founded in 2014 by experienced musicians. True to its motto "The New Power Soul", the band focuses on danceable live music – "It's all about the Groove". Their sound blends late-seventies grooves with nineties acid jazz and songs in the style of Kool & The Gang, Incognito, Jamiroquai and the Brand New Heavies. With rich horn arrangements, multi-part vocals and driving percussion, the band plays more than 20 shows a year at club venues, at festivals such as the Düsseldorf Jazz Rally and as an opening act for international artists.
