About
The Strokes are a rock band formed in New York City in 1998, consisting of singer Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., bassist Nikolai Fraiture and drummer Fabrizio Moretti. Their debut album "Is This It" (2001) made them one of the defining acts of the 2000s garage rock revival. They followed it with albums including "Room on Fire", "First Impressions of Earth", "Angles" and "Comedown Machine". Their album "The New Abnormal" (2020) won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2021. Their sound pairs raw indie rock energy with catchy melodies and has influenced countless younger bands.
