Twisted Sister is an American heavy metal band formed in 1972 in the New York/New Jersey area. Led by singer Dee Snider and guitarist Jay Jay French, the group became known for its theatrical stage shows and 1980s glam metal sound. Their 1984 album "Stay Hungry" and anthems such as "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock" brought them international fame. After several breakups and reunions, the band retired in 2016 following a farewell tour.
