Alice Cooper (born Vincent Damon Furnier in Detroit in 1948) is an American rock singer widely regarded as the pioneer of shock rock. With the band of the same name he scored worldwide hits in the early 1970s such as "School's Out" and "I'm Eighteen", before launching a solo career in 1975. His stage shows are legendary, featuring guillotines, snakes and horror theatrics that have been his trademark for decades. Albums like "Welcome to My Nightmare" and the hit ballad "Poison" cemented his fame across generations. Now well into his seventies, he still tours the world regularly, including frequent stops in Germany.
