Tyla (born Tyla Laura Seethal on 30 January 2002 in Edenvale) is a South African singer and songwriter. Her sound fuses pop with amapiano, a blend that earned her the nickname "Queen of Popiano". She broke through internationally in 2023 with the single "Water", which reached the top ten in several countries including South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States. Her awards include a Grammy for Best African Music Performance, BET Awards, an MTV Video Music Award and several South African Music Awards. Her self-titled debut album "Tyla" was released in 2024.
