Wilhelm Gottfried 'Willy' Astor (born 6 September 1961 in Munich) is a German cabaret artist, musician and composer. He grew up in Munich's Hasenbergl district and taught himself the guitar largely on his own before performing on the city's cabaret and small-stage circuit. From the early 1990s he became known above all for his wordplay-driven routines, weaving similar-sounding words into unexpected, humorous texts. Instrumental guitar music also remains a key part of his repertoire. He reached a wider audience through television work, including the 1996 'Willy Astor-Show' on Bavarian public television.
