About
Willy Ketzer, born on 3 February 1951 in Bad Kreuznach, is a German jazz drummer and bandleader. After studying economics in Mainz he went on to study music with a focus on drums at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. From 1977 to 1980 he toured the United States and Europe with Klaus Doldinger's Passport; from 1980 to 2004 he was the drummer in Paul Kuhn's orchestra and, until 2009, in the Paul Kuhn Trio. Alongside that he leads his own combos, show orchestras and a big band bearing his name. As a studio and touring drummer he has accompanied artists including Tom Jones, Liza Minnelli, José Carreras and Andrea Bocelli.
