The Johanneskirche (city church) at Martin-Luther-Platz 39 is Düsseldorf's largest Protestant church, built to designs by Walter Kyllmann and Adolf Heyden in Romanesque Revival style and consecrated in 1881. As the city church of the Düsseldorf church district it serves both worship and as a venue for classical concerts, including performances by the Johanneskantorei and the Düsseldorf Chamber Choir.
