The Matthäuskirche on Matthäusstrasse in Bochum's Weitmar district was built between 1866 and 1868 in the Neo-Gothic style and was the first new Protestant church built in the 19th century within what is now Bochum's city area. It belongs to the Bochum-Südwest parish within the Bochum church circuit and, alongside services, occasionally hosts concerts.
