St. Markus is a Catholic church in Essen's Bredeney district on Frankenstraße, built in 1880 and extended in 1932; it was rebuilt after wartime destruction in 1945. In 1996 a new organ was installed on a newly built gallery inside the church. Every year on the last Sunday of August, a traditional procession sets out from here to the Klusen Chapel, first documented in 1269, where a service is held afterwards.
