Chris de Burgh (born 1948 in Venado Tuerto, Argentina) is a British-Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He achieved worldwide fame with his 1986 number-one single "The Lady in Red", along with songs such as "Don't Pay the Ferryman" and "A Spaceman Came Travelling". His music blends pop, rock and folk with narrative, often romantic lyrics. He remains a hugely popular live performer, especially across Germany and continental Europe, where he tours regularly.
