Dieter Nuhr (born 1960 in Wesel and raised in Düsseldorf) is one of Germany's best-known cabaret artists and comedians. He launched his solo career in 1994 with the program "Nuhr am nörgeln!" and has since filled large venues across the country with sharp, socially critical stage shows. Since 2011 he has hosted the ARD satire program "Nuhr im Ersten" and regularly presents satirical year-in-review specials. Beyond the stage he also works as an author and conceptual photographer, and his honours include the German Cabaret Prize (1998) and the Order of Merit of North Rhine-Westphalia (2017).
