The Erster Kölner Barbershop Chor (EKBC) is a male choir from Cologne, founded in 1987 as the first barbershop chorus in Germany. It has around 30 singers of different ages and performs four-part a cappella harmony. Its repertoire ranges from traditional barbershop to ballads and pop songs in the choir's own arrangements. The choir belongs to BinG! e. V., the German barbershop association, and is registered with the choral association of North Rhine-Westphalia. Alongside German concerts it has appeared in the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands and the United States, and in 2002 it won the title of best German barbershop male chorus.
