About

Galahad is a German band that has been playing a distinctive medieval folk rock crossover since the 1980s, celebrating its 40th stage anniversary in 2025. Their sound fuses rock with medieval and classical music and a touch of Irish-Celtic mysticism, carried by a richly varied instrumentation. The band was named newcomer of the year at the WDR Folk Prize and has appeared at numerous folk-rock festivals, including the Euro-Folk-Festival Ingelheim and Burgfolk in Mülheim. Live, Galahad has shared stages with acts such as Jethro Tull, Schandmaul, Corvus Corax, Saltatio Mortis, Faun and Fiddler's Green. Not to be confused with the English progressive rock band of the same name.
